Ewa Beach, an area defined by H1 freeway to the North, ocean to the South, Pearl Harbor to the East and Kalaeloa Airport to the West. Oahu’s 2nd city, Kapolei, is its neighboring community to the West.
The area was once a bed of coral, dry and barren. The name Ewa means "crooked." The name comes from the myth that the gods Kane and Kanaloa threw a stone to determine the boundaries, but was lost.
Later it became sugarcane fields after wells were bored In the 1890s.
The area is dominated by single-family homes and townhomes. Over the years there have been continuous new project developments in the area that include Hoakalei Resort, Ha'akea at Ho'opili, etc.
