Ewa Beach

Ewa Beach, an area defined by H1 freeway to the North, ocean to the South, Pearl Harbor to the East and Kalaeloa Airport to the West. Oahu’s 2nd city, Kapolei, is its neighboring community to the West.

The area was once a bed of coral, dry and barren. The name Ewa means "crooked." The name comes from the myth that the gods Kane and Kanaloa threw a stone to determine the boundaries, but was lost.

Later it became sugarcane fields after wells were bored In the 1890s.

The area is dominated by single-family homes and townhomes. Over the years there have been continuous new project developments in the area that include Hoakalei Resort, Ha'akea at Ho'opili, etc.

With its relatively affordable price and robust community development, Ewa Beach has been attractive to both local residents and military personnel. There are two major master-planned communities -

Ewa By Gentry and Ka Makana at Hoakalei. For someone who enjoys golfing, in the vicinity there are no less than 7 golf courses!

The area has two major retail centers - Kapolei Commons and the outdoor mall Ka Makana Ali’i. Other major retailers include Costco, Target, Safeway, Walmart, etc.

It’s also minutes away from  to Ko Olina resort town (Disney Aulani Resort, Four Seasons Resort, and future home of Atlantis Resort, etc.)
