Kapolei - Oahu's 2nd City
Known as the ‘second city’ of Oahu, Kapolei is a master-planned community. Located in the southern tip of the Waianae mountains, the area was once sugarcane and pineapple fields. The word Kapolei in Hawaiian means ‘Beloved Kapo’. Kapo is the Goddess of Fertility. Initial development began in the 1980s but full developmental benefits of the area didn’t come to fruition until decades later.
Today, with Ewa Beach neighboring to the East and with Ko Olina resorts to its West, it enjoys approx. 7 golfs courses, various retail and commercial outlets that include Costco, Safeway, etc., as well as world-class resort area that include Disney’s Aulani resort, Four Season resort, and future development of Atlantis Resort. It also hosts one of Oahu’s top family destination, Wet ‘N’ Wild Hawaii.
Homes in this area are primarily townhomes and condos.
